This anthurium has large, velvety leaves covered in elegant crystalline veining, with new leaves showing in pinkish-red. Native to the Bolivian Coast in South America, Besseae need lots of bright, indirect sunlight and weekly waterings to thrive. They do best around 26-27ºC and 80% humidity.
The besseae displayed here is happy in a 10cm(4") pot, but they can reach up to 60cm(24") tall and about the same in width. Besseae are epiphytes, meaning that in their native habitat they use other plants, like trees, for growth support without causing harm (meaning they aren't a parasite). With the right conditions, they produce stunning red blooms which contrast beautifully with their stunning evergreen foliage.
